Okay, that may be a bit of a misleading title. What this is really about is what @anomadsoul challenged us to write about while Steem is restoring continuity after HF20. It's supposed to show how we've progressed in our Steem journey and to let our newer followers see some of the juicy stuff they may have missed before they clicked that FOLLOW button.
But for real, sometimes it is a challenge to get to know me because I'm not the most sociable person and really enjoy my me time. But maybe you can get an idea of me through my videos and posts. If you're going to Steemfest in Krakow, you can try to get to know me there in person.
I've been on Steemit for about 9 months but I've come quite a ways since starting out. I'm over 1,000 followers now and have improved my content a lot... I think.
Here are some of the highlights I want to share from my Steem past.
My Intro Post
Link: Hello Steemit and DTube!!! Video introduction to my adventure travel channel!
I'm not sure if the DTube video can be played on this one. I just tried and wasn't successful but maybe it will play for you. It's a semi-short bio of what I'm about and the content I like to create.
When I Started Finding my Vlog/Video Voice
Link: Climbing Mount Doom! - Lord of the Rings
I was still bad at talking to my little GoPro, but I am still very proud of this video because it was when I was getting good enough at filming and editing to where the videos were coming out like I was wanting them to. Plus I just really loved this epic trek through Mordor and up Mt. Doom so good memories for me. This one played for me so I hope it will for you too.
One of My Most Epic Experiences
Link: Ice Climbing on a Glacier in New Zealand
I have done many epic things in my lifetime. #grateful. From skydiving to bungy jumping to swimming with whale sharks to seeing some of the most beautiful landscapes on the planet. Ice climbing ranks way up there as one of the most awesome experiences of my life. Just going on this expedition was a last-minute decision but I am so glad I did that I forgot about the exorbitant amount of money I spent for it. I had a blast on that beautiful glacier just hanging off the wall by spikes in my feet and picks in my hands. I really hope I can do this again soon.
One of my Favorite Hidden Gems
Link: The Best Hidden Gem in Laos - Pha Hon Kham
I love getting off the beaten path and finding hidden gems. It's extra sweet when I stumble upon them myself completely unexpected. As my brother and I were heading to a popular swimming hole in Laos we passed a random sign saying "viewpoint". So we're like, "why not". What we found was one of the best viewpoints either of us had ever seen. Photos and video can't capture it nearly well enough. What we couldn't figure out is why no one else was there.
My First Steem Conference
Link: STEEM CREATORS CONFERENCE - Day 1 Overview
This was one of the better decisions I made this whole year was going to the Steem Creators Conference in Las Vegas. Never have I met such an interesting and diverse group of people than at the SCC and the ideas they talked about with Steem kind of blew my mind. I certainly can't wait for Steemfest where I think it will be that times 10.
Here is the link for day 2 of the conference
One of My Favorite Travel Tunes Tuesday Posts
Link: Travel Tunes Tuesday 7.0
Thanks to @nomadicsoul for the idea to post some of our favorite tunes we play or hear while traveling and it's become a weekly thing for me. I love traveling and I love music so I like sharing with you the songs that I discover abroad or have on my own travel playlists. The one above is one of my favorite posts I've put up about it.
More In-Depth About My Travel Lifestyle with the Steem Sisters
Since most people don't know much of my back story or how I can travel so much, when I met up with the Steem Sisters, @coruscate &
@maryjaney, in their home town, we decided to do an interview style video answering some of these questions. You can get to know quite a bit more about me in this one. Thumbs up for meetups with Steemians!
That Time I Got a 100% Upvote from DTube
Link: Exploring Czech Republic's Mining Heritage in Ostrava
It was really unexpected. I'm sure I'm not the first one to ever receive a 100% from @dtube but it sure was a nice surprise. I'm still very grateful to DTube. In my opinion, this isn't even my best video, but for whatever reason, one of the curators either thought I deserved it or they made a mistake. Still not sure of that, haha.
Fun Facts About Me
Link: 3 "Fun" Facts About Me - Road to Steemfest3
Since I'll be going to Steemfest in a little over a month, I started writing with the #roadtosteemfest and this was one of my "get to know you a little bit better" posts so that we're not all complete strangers when we meet each other there. Just some funnish facts about yours truly. Because this is a get to know me challenge.
So there is 9 of my past posts to help you get to know me a little better and how I've progressed on Steem.
Now for my nominations. I nominate: @kenmelendez,
