Well here we are on the island. New Castle Island that is, just across the water from the city of Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada. The goal was to hike around the island, which I figured wouldn't take more than about 2.5 hours-ish. Off we went. A friend of mine who recommended this place said we ought to start out counter clockwise, so we did. The weather was fabulous, couldn’t have asked for anything better.
