Hello Brethren, I believe we all are good and sound. I was fortunate to join in today's zoom meeting mass indoctrination program and it was really great as the word of God was communicated with a deep level of knowledge to all those in attendance.
The man of God Pastor Eli, emphasized on different areas concerning Christian fellowship and certain creeds practiced I'm Christianity as he expounded and elucidated his teaching through the following scriptures below:
Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:(KJV)
First, it is not to exaggerate issues but I must appreciate and congratulate the MCGI community for the incredible work they have availed themselves to be used by God to offer to humanity in different locations of the world.
The book of Hebrews is a clarion call to believers and every folk on earth to do good. There are certain things we do to people without considering its effect or reverberation on them.
The eagles will always gather within the carcasses. No one would like to go where he is not loved or appreciated no matter how desperate or stupid he might be considered to be.
Many folks have been provoked into hatred even in Christianity, and this is not biblical. We are admonished to let people feel loved, feel belonged, feel appreciated etc. When we consider people, they are spurred to do good works and to love others themselves but when we hate people, its malignant effect may not truly be fathomed.
In verse 25 of Heb 24, believers are admonished to always gather to encourage one another in the faith as the day of Christ approaches.
The Church or christian fellowship centers should be a place where one another is encouraged through any possible means but the reverse is the case in many churches where the Pastors, Bishops, and other Gospel Ministers have good residential buildings while their members are living in rickety places.
Pastors driving good cars, sending their children to the best schools and even building schools where even their members cannot afford to send their children.
This was not the intention of God concerning the Church but rather the church should be a place where brothers are encouraged through any possible means.
I don't negate the fact that God does help men and gives power to create wealth but the situation in Nigeria is really out of place from all indications although I'm not trying to taunt the body which I belong to but we aren't getting it right over here from my observations.
James 2:1-4 was a prudent observation of Apostle James regarding how people are treated probably in the Church.
We are to treat all men equally and not to see some people as second class to others in the church. For instance, Apostle James said it is partial to give a rich man a good seat in the church and have a poor man sit by your foot.
The case in the world shouldn't be the same issue in the Church but we are to observe the scriptures by treating all men equally and loving everyone as indicated in verse 8 of James 2. Hence, I must without reserve appreciate the MCGI community for my observation so far.
1 Corinthians 11:21 For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.(KJV)
The Apostle Paul was admonishing the early Corinthian Church on how to eat as he observed that what they were doing was out of scripture.
He observed that most of them do go to church with their own wine to the extent they drink to intoxication. He observed they weren't eating and drinking in unism as taught by Christ so he admonished them in verse 33 & 34 to wait for one another before eating.
The body and the blood of the New Testament has a procedure for eating. After the bread and the cup of wine shared in unism to all communicant, they are them permitted to eat simultaneously but there are other congregations that eat one after the other which is not the teaching of Christ from the scriptures, so this kind of practice should be jettisoned by any scriptural abiding believer.
Acts 20:7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.(KJV)
This scriptural verse emphasized on the major days the early church normally gathers, and here we could observe that it was the first day of the week. According to our calendars, the first day of the week is Sunday.
There are Christians who have decided to be attending their churches on Saturdays, like the Sabbatherians, although I'm not against this but we could see that the early Christians normally gather on the first day of the week to pray and to break bread as Apostle Paul was also a partaker.
To me, the argument about Holy days aren't too important as all days belong to the Lord and should be seen as a day of worship. The issues should be that everyone should worship with knowledge of who he is serving.
1 Corinthians 14:26 How is it then, brethren? When ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.(KJV)
We are meant to understand according to this scripture that everything that is done in the church should be for edification of the Brethren.
The Church should be ordered in a well organized manner and no one should do anything out of personal gain based on our giftings because it is not everyone that could indoctrinate, sing, speak in different tongues or possibly interpret different tongues but we must give in our best as to edify the body the best we could.
I met a young man in church last Sunday 30th April, I know him to be a drummer so I asked him to come and drum, he told me that the last time he drummed in the church was by invitation and he was paid for it so i was startled.
The fact is that we can commercialize certain things but it is not when we are meant to edify the Church with our gifts. Christ wants us to edify his body which is the church through what he has given to us and we shouldn't use it to confuse others. For instance speaking big Grammar when one hasn't anyone to interpret while there are many people who couldn't understand what he meant.
Pastor Eli emphasized on the importance God had placed on singing songs to him, as he quoted HEB 13:15. God wants us to praise him always even according to the different references of the psalmist.
Many people don't listen or even sing godly songs but they listen to secular songs. Most other churches don't dance in church as they assume that dancing is evil before God. These teachings are not biblical so it is wrong because even the bible recorded in 2 Sam 6:14 that King David danced with all his might to the Lord.
We must follow the scriptures, and believe what God has said because he is not a man that he should lie or deceive us according to Numbers 23:19.
We have to love everyone as we love ourselves. We are not called to segregate as believers.
We have to serve God with the gift he has given to us by using them to edify the Church and not to cause confusion.
We have to help those in need if we have what it takes to assist them in any way.
God is not an author of confusion, so the church must be ordered in a way it should bring glory to his name.
