The only thing more important than having skills is the ability to learn new skills fast.
Do it and the future belongs to you.
The world is changing so fast that rapid skill learning is not an option anymore. It is compulsory.
I'm not even talking about the labour market, but also business and entrepreneurship. Who would have guessed 10 years ago that we'd make money by mining, trading or investing in digital currencies?
Here's my process for rapid skill learning:
Step 1:
Identify the result you are seeking. Don't start with the skill, but the RESULT you are after first.
Step 2:
Then identify the top 3 skills you will need to get those results. It's rare that you only need one skill. It's usually 2 to 3 skills that, when combined, create results.
Step 3:
Get some basic knowledge of the skills you want to learn (use a book, a blog, or even a YouTube video). Don't go into information overload. You just want enough information so you can practice.
Step 4:
Start practicing the first skill in blocks of 20 minutes to 3 hours, depending on the skills you want to master and your schedule. Great practice is focused, regular, and uninterrupted.
After you've practiced enough and made progress on mastering the relevant skills, two things happen: You will achieve the results or you won't. If you do, celebrate your success.
If you don't, it only means you identified the wrong skills. You need more practice or feedback from someone who has already gained the results.
Have an amazing day!
