En mi vivienda se me estaba presentando un problema cuando llueve. La única tanquilla de aguas de lluvia de la que dispongo, no es suficiente para recoger todo el caudal, lo cual en oportunidades estaba causando inundaciones en el interior de mi sala.

In my house I was having a problem when it rained. The only rainwater tank that I have is not enough to collect all the flow, which at times was causing flooding inside my room.

La solución es ampliar la tanquilla existente o hacer otra y conectarla a la red de tuberias de aguas de lluvia, sin embargo, en este momento no disponía de los materiales necesarios como madera para el encofrado, conexiones y tuberias, y con el tema pandemia y falta de combustible se hace difícil trasladarse.

The solution is to expand the existing rainwater tank or make another one and connect it to the rainwater pipe network, however, at this time I do not have the necessary materials such as wood for the formwork, connections and pipes, and with the pandemic issue and lack of fuel makes it difficult to move.

Por otro lado, el período lluvioso estaba a la vuelta de la esquina, por lo cual debía tomar un Plan "B" y disponer de lo que tenía: cemento, piedra, arena y bloques de concreto.

<On the other hand, the rainy season was just around the corner, so I had to take a Plan "B" and do something what I had: cement, stone, sand and concrete blocks.

Fué así como me decidí a extender un piso, y adosarlo a un murete de bloques que sirvieran de contención para que el agua no pasara hacia el interior de la vivienda; y para eso si tenía los materiales necesarios.

That is how I decided to extend a floor, and glue it to a wall of blocks that would serve as a containment so that the water would not pass into the house; and for that I had the necessary materials.

Tips constructivos

Para preparar el suelo sobre el cual se construirá el piso, se retira cualquier capa vegetal, en mi caso no había, luego se humedece y se apisona, tratando de que quede bien compactado.

Construction tips

To prepare the soil on which the floor will be built, any vegetal layer is removed, in my case there was none, then it is moistened and tamped, trying to make it well compacted.

Trata de hacer una cama de piedra picada de por lo menos 10 cms, y luego colocar una malla de acero tipo truckson para evitar grietas y fisuras.

Try to make a bed of crushed stone of at least 10 cm, and then place a steel mesh type truckson to avoid cracks and fissures.

Luego procede a hacer la mezcla de concreto. Puedes tomar como dosificación para 1 metro cúbico, 8 sacos de cemento, 0,5 m3 de arena y 0,5 m3 de piedra picada. Realmente una mezcla de concreto debe ser diseñada para las especificaciones deseadas pero te doy valores estimados que pueden servirte para algún caso informal.

Then proceed to make the concrete mix. You can take as a dosage for 1 cubic meter, 8 bags of cement, 0.5 m3 of sand and 0.5 m3 of crushed stone. Actually a concrete mix should be designed to the desired specifications but I give you estimates that can be helpful for informal cases.

Para saber cuántos metro cúbicos requieres preparar, solo necesitas multiplicar el área del piso por el espesor, con todas sus unidades consistentes en metros. Te doy un ejemplo: Necesitas hacer un piso de 4 metros de largo, 2 metros de ancho y 0,10 metros de espesor, que es el equivalente a 10 centímetros.

To find out how many cubic meters you require, you just need to multiply the area of the floor by the thickness, with all its units consisting of meters. I give you an example: You need to make a floor 4 meters long, 2 meters wide and 0.10 meters thick, which is the equivalent of 10 centimeters.

El volúmen será: 4 x 2 x 0,10 = 0,80 m3, obteniéndose la cantidad en metros cúbicos que necesitas de mezcla. Ahora aplicando regla de 3, obtendrás cuánto necesitas de cemento, arena, piedra picada y agua, y listo, a elaborar la mezcla.

The volume will be: 4 x 2 x 0.10 = 0.80 m3, obtaining the amount in cubic meters that you need to mix. Now applying rule of 3, you will get how much you need of cement, sand, crushed stone and water, and you are ready, to make the mixture.

Luego procedes a la colocación de la mezcla de concreto, por partes, extendiendo con un listón para que quede uniforme, y guiándote con alguna referencia, por ejemplo un bloque (de altura igual a la que deseas), que te sirva para garantizar el espesor del piso.

Then you proceed to the placement of the concrete mix, in parts, spreading with a strip so that it is uniform, and guiding you with some reference, for example a block (of the same height as you want), that will help you to guarantee the thickness from the floor.

Luego lo cepillas y lo curas, colocándole agua varios días para evitar fisuras.

Then you brush and cure it, putting water on it for several days to avoid cracks.

Luego prodecí a pegar los bloques, que me servirían de murete, cuidando el alineamiento, para que no quedaran torcidos. Para pegar los bloques usé un material muy práctico que se llama "frisolisto".

Then I proceeded to glue the blocks, which would serve as a wall, taking care of the alignment, so that they were not twisted. To glue te blocks I used a practical material called "frisolisto".

Posteriormente le tapé los huecos a los bloques y los frisé. Además hice una media caña en la cara exterior, para darle más durabilidad, por efecto de humedad.
