The Lambkin is a small to medium-sized cat that was created by crossbreeding the Munchkin cat and the Selkirk Rex. The result is the adorable short-legged, curly-coated cat that resembles a lamb. Their coat is very soft to the touch. At birth they have curly hair, but by 16 weeks their hair either straightens out or falls out. However, by 8-10 months their hair fully grows back in a curl.

Lambkin chests are broad, full, round, and medium-long. They have a very hairy and full tail, which shows plumes on long-haired Lambkins. Their hind legs are taller than the front legs which makes them look like they are ready to move forward.

Lambkins have round faces and round eyes.

The history of the breed began in 1991 when Terri Harris, an American cat breeder, decided to crossbreed a Munchkin cat and a Selkirk Rex. Today, the Lambkin is currently recognized by The International Cat Association (TICA) as well as by the various dwarf cat registries across America.

Lambkin cats are kind and have got a sweet-natured personality which makes them good family pets.

They are often a social breed, which love company and they love physical contact and petting.

Lambkin cats are not high on maintenance. The level of grooming they need generally varies depending on whether they are short or long haired, but they will need a basic level of maintenance and regular health checks like other cats.
