I don't really understand the argument that these workers are being exploited. They are leaving now in greater numbers perhaps but they always have that choice and in fact, it would have been easier to do when the economy was in better shape. In other words, they were there voluntarily. If businesses that are losing those workers want to retain them, they will have to offer something better, whether that is higher wages, better benefits, more flexible working hours or whatever. Of course that will raises costs and therefore prices. But isn't that how a free market should work (not that we really have one of those)?
