I do like to spend time on the garden, so this afternoon I thought that I'd do a bit of macro photography. If you look back through my different posts, you will see that I quite like a bit of macro.
Today was excellent as there was an abundance of different creatures, I was really in my element and I just couldn't believe the variety of wildlife within a couple of metres.
(Female Poecilobothrus Nobilitatus)
The colours on some of these creatures are absolutely stunning and to me, they look like miniature robots flying around the place.
There were so many different kinds of wasps and flies, some more skittish than others, so I had to be quick in getting the shots I wanted, some didn't work out before they flew off, but that's macro photography for you.
I wish I knew the names of all these little creatures, but I do admire them, and I love seeing them in a way you wouldn't see them with the naked eye, it really does open your eyes up to another world when you are doing macro photography.
I managed to get a shot of this Zebra jumping spider, I knew there was one and roughly where it's territory is, and with the sun being out I managed to find him/her. I only managed a couple of shots before it disappeared though, sadly it was on the house rather than a plant which I would have preferred as I'd love to get those big jumping spider eyes on the shot, but maybe next time.
All shots were done using a Sony A7iii with a cheap Yongnuo flash and a Sigma 105mm F/2.8 Macro Lens, which is for Canon cameras, but I've adapted it with the Sigma MC-11 adaptor, works great. Some shots were done in natural light without the flash.
I really hope you have enjoyed this post.
Thanks for reading,
All the best :-)
