Maybe it was just your smile. Who knows? I had something similar happen to me in Dallas, I was outside on a busy street with my dog and a person handed me $5 bill and stated it was for my dog. I sort of refused but then they told me they had recently lost their dog and said they just wanted to feel better by getting something for a dog. I apologized. They just told me to get some dog treats and to continue to treat my dog well. You will never know the what was going through the person mind at the time when something like that occurs unless they share. Most of the times you will never know. Take care.
