This is what the Lord has commanded us:
"I have set you as a light for the nations,
in order that you may bring my salvation to the ends of the earth. "
Acts 13:47 | NIV |
Remember the last time your car did not start? Surely some gear broke, or did not work properly.
In our walk as a Church we discover that there are three main gears that make good walking and have even taken us to land we had never known before.
We have learned to recognize them, take care of them, develop them and prioritize them.
It is good for those of us who have the church as one of our values to be able to determine which are the gears that can not be missed and thus move harmoniously towards new paths that take it to never-known horizons.
A growing cell church is sustained by the assembly of three gears
These united and oiled gears provide the church with the right moments for the church to contain, develop and liberate all of its members to do the Work.
These three gears are:
The cells
They are the main form of expression of the body of Christ TOWARDS PEOPLE in our church.
In them EACH MEMBER is indispensable, unique, necessary and valued.
The ministries are developed in them in a personal, informal way, without attacking our ego, in a simple and effective way, face to face.
That is ministry (service), we get confused when talking about ministry we refer to commissions, meetings and discussions.
Jesus performed PURE MINISTRY without having a single meeting, without naming commissions and devoting little or no time to discussing.
The cell is the appropriate place to free each member to DO THE MINISTRY.
The service
The service is the moment of greatest expression of the church TOWARDS GOD.
In the service we acquire the sense of transcendence that we have as their own people.
We adore Him in all possible ways, we recognize Him, we preach Him and we listen to His Word.
It is the moment of balance between our dedication to people and our commitment to God.
Without the time to celebrate together what God does through the church our ministry in the cells would be amputated.
Without the cells as a form of MINISTRY TO THE PEOPLE the Cult would be an empty expression, without love, with hypocrisy, since it would not include the inevitable surrender of love for the neighbor.
The training (of Cell Leaders)
It is the unique moment TOWARD THE COLUMNS OF THE CHURCH where we carry out the containment, development and evaluation of the people that form the base of a cell church.
Years ago we "said goodbye" to thinking that the column where the church rested was the pastor and we trusted the care of the people to the Cell Leaders.
Instead of having a large column where everything is held we have many columns (increasingly) that expand the base of the building so that it can contain more and more people.
These leaders have responded with responsibility and courage to the task assigned to them.
The training tries to provide them with what they need to do their job well.
Caring for these three gears leads us to overcome different stages of growth.
Today it would be impossible to leave them aside without affecting the joint work of the whole Church.
Nothing assures us that we will not have mishaps on the road, but until here we have arrived with the help of God and only He knows where we will stop.
Meanwhile, I invite you to distinguish your gears, take care of them, develop them, prioritize them and see how your church begins a steady and serene walk towards new challenges.
