As some of you may know, my wife and I have 5 kids (yeah really). So we don't get to get out and do our own thing much. Tonight she (Kaela, just like Kayla) found a babysitter! For all 5 kids! Holy smokes Batman! Time for a night out on the town!
This would be our first date night in a loooong time. So Kaela wanted to make the night special. i have always asked for us to go out to sushi, but she was too afraid. This night she was willing to "broaden her horizons" with new food. We went to a small place around the corner. Osaka, a sushi bar/steak house....
When we first got in there she was a little nervous and confused.....
Not even knowing how to pull apart the chop sticks lol.....
We sat for a while, chatting about life, talking for the first time in months without a kid yelling in our face. Everything was going good, until the sushi got there....
By the time we left she had about 5 pieces, 3 were just avocado rice and seaweed paper. She is still willing to go to another sushi bar, as long as it was steak in there! lol...... She was just glad to leave.
I really had to make it up to her, so time for a Starbucks run! That definitely made her smile :-)
While we were there she was telling the barista her story of horrible sushi..... so she got a new nickname at Starbucks....
And i got lumped into the mix too
All in all it was a great time I got to spend with my beautiful wife. It seems that the best thing you can do is take some time together. Enjoy each others company, relearn about yourselves. Take that special one out on the town.
