I was just a young child when this email was sent, but very early on I had the chance to use computers, and to explore the internet. I remember using DOS computers, using Windows3.1, at school every year we would get another new Mac computer. I remember my grandpa had the internet very early in his smoke filled office room. I went to a friends house and we logged on using dialup using netscape. I recall the early computer networking days, and every year there were more tools, more software, more web sites to visit. I used FortuneCity to build my own web page, practiced writing HTML by reading the source of pages and writing in notepad. So much has changed over the past 35 years. Is the Internet the birth of global consciousness? And what of those of us who have been growing up during this time, alongside the growth of the internet? Are we merely witnesses, or participants? We added to the internet, we learned from it, we experimented and are still exploring what it means to be connected consciously to the global information superhighway.
