I have had some issues trying to post this again, something in my last one breaks the UI on peakd and I either cannot compose the post, or cannot set beneficiaries. So here is the deal.
All the rewards from this post are set to burn. You don't have to burn any of your Hive but as an experiment, whenever we have Power Up day I will simultaneously decline rewards for the day, and post another burn barrel.
This one however is being posted in advance. Please upvote, there will be no payout, all rewards are automatically send to @null.
Let's discuss Burning rewards.
1 What are some advantages of Burning Hive?
2 What are some disadvantages?
3 Should we be burning community tokens?
An advantage would be, reducing the available supply. While I am not really a fan of burning large amounts of funds, I think it is an interesting experiment and I am doing it to make a statement; to raise awareness of Hive Power Up Day, and awareness about the various payout settings you can choose from when you make a post on Hive.
Normally, 50/50 the rewards are split between HBD and HP, vested Hive. You can also set it to 100% HP which means all the rewards to the author and curator will be staked.
You can also decline rewards, giving 100% of the payout to the curators, or you can donate your rewards to the Hive fund. However, the most controversial option I would suspect is the BURN rewards function.
Upvote this post to throw some Hive in the Burn Barrel.
The first 10 users to leave a comment will receive some PIZZA tokens, and if I run out then I will start passing out some BEER. Tell me what you think of this, and also remember to get some Hive so that on May 1st you can power up (at least 11, maybe more) Hive into Hive Power!
Last month we burned 0.44 Hive. Can we increase that amount?
