I am the one who screams out tonight,

But no one is listening to my cry.

You made this happen to me!

Before I met you

I never looked in the mirror,

And hated who I'd see.

You tell me I'm worthless.

That I won't be beautiful without you by my side.

That I need to color my hair,

Get new clothes because the light doesn't quite reach my eyes.

I try to pass you by,

But you see what I feel inside.

You use it to tear me down,

To get me to question myself just enough,

So you can poison my pride.

To ensure that I would never leave your side.

Behind this ever present smile,

There always stands a lie.

Behind this 'I love you',

There's a goodbye.

I HATE you!

You ruined my life!

I scream over and over again in my head,

But on this end of the phone,

The silence is dead.

I told you to leave,

For you,

Not for me.

My eyes brim with tears,

As I watch you go,

But all of me is glad.

Because now I'm finally free.

I used to shrink back in fear,

As I walked through these halls,

And after you spoke,

I wanted to end it all.

To put a knife to my throat,

And watch the blood fall.

To make you realize that pride always came before the fall.

But I'm done being your victim,

Because someone wants to love me,

And be it your will or no,

I'm going to let him.

He's shown me that I'm beautiful and strong.

I have talents,

And I can write.

So I will write you away,

Make you never exist.

Or maybe I'll make you the villain,

My hero will end.

And this smile on my face,

Isn't a lie.

Because now I know that I'm worth someone's time

And to anyone who wants to bleed it all away,

All because of the words they say.

Put down the razor,

The revolution starts today!

Because you aee more than what "perfect" is today.

Your hair is beautiful,

And your size should be your pride!

Your clothes are an expression,

Of how you feel inside.

The only reason they tear you apart,

Is because they can't see how amazing you are.

Their jealousy is their tragic fall,

And that's why they throw rocks at your heart.

Let the pain be your drive,

Instead of ending your life,

Because one day,

You'll be the one on the cover of that book,

Telling the world stories of how much you took,

Made you into the person you are today.
