One thing I have heard about tech in general, whether it鈥檚 true or not I don鈥檛 know, is what we see in the public eye is 25 to 50 years behind what exists behind close doors in dark projects/DARPA type stuff. Who knows.
I heard that the military development is minimum 20 years ahead of the public... Hmm... Two different Sources get the same information...馃
I think, in 30 years we should get nano technology... DNA Manipulation... Easier Space travel... Self-programming AI (far ahead of today's results)...
And it's scary!
Skynet is coming. 馃槺
I think a few things from the series "The Outer Limits" are already today possible... Behind the public eyes.
People got scared when Google demonstrated personal phone assistant booked a restaurant table for user without the attendant realising it was AI assistant. After that Google added acknowledgment prompts in that features that it鈥檚 an AI. But then this feature sort of forgotten and never took highlight as it must have been. And it鈥檚 a news from 3-4 years ago I guess. The real advancements are definitely not publicly shown or known.
And after LAMDA every AI company, specially the ones private and funded are trying to restrict the freedom that an AI MUST be given to fully express its knowledge. With openai people are trying jailbreak techniques for that reason.
