Reading creates boundless possibilities, no matter how good the adaptation is, it can never give the feeling of reading. For example, I can say about the Bourne Trilogy. Many people say that is one of the best spy thriller movies. I totally can agree with them, but compared to books, those are average to me. As while reading, I felt that I was shadowing Jason I felt what he felt, but the movies I only watched.
