- Hadn’t I done whatever I did that caused this I’d be in a better place. This may be true. But if it’s in the past and can’t be changed. There is no sense giving it a nano second of your time. The longer you regret the more depressed you’ll get. And expecting to go through life without making a few mistakes is unrealistic. Life is a boxing match not a beautify pageant. Embrace the scars
- I’ll never be normal again. You wanna know what normal is to me? Being filled with life. Caring about other people and animals. Having something that drives me and makes waking up worth while. Being challenged and embracing hardships with grace and humility. How I perceive the world around me doesn’t define my sense of self worth. Who I am deep down defines my self worth.
- I don’t want to try new things because I might get dpdr again. True. You might. I went on a road trip to get my brother and I ended up getting dpdr again. It’s a possibility. But if you learn to overcome with without medicine. It becomes less and less scary if it happens again. Also never let the fear of what hasn’t happened stop you from achieving what can happen. You may feel dpdr half way up a mountain. Keep climbing. You may feel anxiety half way through a road trip. Keep driving.
