The centre of the village is quite barren and dry (in fact when we arrived they were celebrating the first rains in over 6 months).
I got a chance to explore today, see the animals, and went to take a look at the local church. I also enjoyed seeing the younger generation learning the native language and growing up with his traditional indigenous culture and rituals.
The technique for building walls and buildings from the earth is called adobe. This translates from Spanish as mudbrick and is a really early method for building.
