Yesterday the day of the Virgin of the Sea, sometimes better known as the Virgin of the Navigators, the Virgin Mary or for us Afro-Umbandists "La mae Yemanjá" was celebrated in many parts of the world.
While Edu was coming back from work, we took a bath with Gonza, got dressed and went to worship him by bringing flowers to our beloved mother Yemanja!
We made a fairly long journey along Route 87 to the interbalnearia where when we crossed it we headed towards the Santería of the town, we arrived and it was still full of people! We waited for our turn and Gonza was already getting a little nervous having to wait.
After the people who had passed before us left, we proceeded to enter the store where we bought roses for our mother.
After waiting for about an hour, eating an alfajor and drinking a juice with Gonza, Edu arrived and we headed down the beach.
Upon arrival we noticed that there were still a lot of people, the night was beautiful! typical of a summer night, there were plenty of wells made by the faithful of Yemanja lit by candles which extended along the entire coast!
We dug our well, lit our candles with our requests to the Queen and then entered the water to bring the flowers to our mother!
The sea was really beautiful, calm but with a couple of waves on the shore and the water was warm! we carried our flowers and as a string of drums descended towards the beach we began our return home.
