@dannewton just finished a 6.11km run, that lasted for 41 minutes.
This run helped dannewton burn 529.0 calories.
Description from Strava: I'm long overdue a new pair of running shoes... currently using 2 version of New Balance 880's, both of which I've been using for almost a year, and both of which have over 1200km of running in each pair, not counting all the walking I've done in these as well.
I've recently picked up a pair of New Balance Fuelcell Rebel V5, which are nice, but I could do with another pair to add to the rotation, so I can finally bin both of the 880's. I'm also aware of my 24hr race in 3 weeks time... and need something that is comfortable, but also plenty of grip. The Equinox course is mostly 'off-road', i.e a couple of gravel paths, but mostly mud/grass trails around the grounds of the castle.
I have one pair of trail shoes (NB Summit Unknown) but would like a 2nd pair, just purely so I can change shoes during the event. Even if it isn't raining, then there will be dew on the grass etc, and I'll want to be able to change into dry shoes/socks at some point.
And although it is technically payday, times are tight at the minute, so looking for a bargain where possible. The last couple of weeks I've been walking home past the local independent running shop, and looking at sale items in the window. Today while running home from work, I bit the bullet and went inside.
I told the shop assistant I wanted cheap/sale shoes, preferably trail and that I've only ever wore New Balance. He wandered out to the back and returned 2 minutes later with these - New Balance Hierro V7
Version 9 is currently in the shops, so this model is a couple of years old now, but if that means cheap prices, then that doesn't bother me!
I spent 30 seconds walking up and down, decided that they were comfortable and fitted like a glove, and promptly bought them.
In other news, we've had a reasonable amount of rain today which was great (especially as the 5 hours of rain we were forecast yesterday didn't appear at all), but yet again by the time I had finished work, the rain had stopped and the sun had come out.
More rain is due tomorrow, so maybe tomorrow I can finally go for a run in the rain!!
