@dannewton just finished a 16.84km run, that lasted for 98 minutes.
This run helped dannewton burn 1285.0 calories.
Description from Strava: Some more tent testing, last time I just tried to put it up and take it down, this time I slept in it overnight. I put up Saturday afternoon, and put all the required items (mattress, sleeping bag, pillow) inside. The plan was to sleep overnight, and then head straight out for a run Sunday morning, so made sure all my running gear was in the tent as well
However, I ended up having a really poor nights sleep. It wasn't too cold, the 'bed' felt comfortable enough, but I guess I'm really not used to tenting!!
By the time my alarm went off at 6am, I'd only had 3 hours of sleep, so decided to ditch the run and get more rest instead
After the lay-in, I got up at 9:30ish, and headed into town with my partner @dawnsart. She used to be part of the local camera club, and we found out a few days ago that they had put together an exhibition in the local art gallery to celebrate their centenary. As she still knew most of the members, we decided to go check it out.
It was also a nice place to go visit the Usher Gallery, as it is rigt on our doorstep in Lincoln, and we haven't visited in years.
The gallery was created when a local art collector: James Usher passed away. He had spent a lifetime collecting various pieces of art, donated his collection the city of Lincoln, so the others could appreciate it
James Ward Usher never married and devoted his life to collecting, travelling far in search of particular items to enhance his collection. He never sought public honours but was offered the position of Sheriff of Lincoln in 1916. In 1921 he died at the age of 76, and as was his wish he bequeathed to the City his collection of watches, miniatures, porcelain and silver. He also left a considerable amount of money for a gallery to be built in order to house his collection.
โIt has long been my desire and ambition to bequeath a considerable proportion of my lifeโs work in art to Lincoln, and I hope that it might form the nucleus of an art gallery and museum worthy of the cityโ.
Five years later the Usher Gallery was completed, designed by the architect Sir Reginald Blomfield R.A. The Usher Gallery, on Lindum Hill, was officially opened on the 25th May 1927 with a solid gold key by the Prince of Wales. - source
After appreciating the various exhibitions at the gallery, we headed into town for some clothes shopping plus a couple of random bits. We arrive back home at 2pm, and I finally felt awake enough to get the long run done.
I chose to do the loop around Branston, for 16.6km (10 miles) which helped me reach my 50km distance goal for the week. I didn't really have the time or energy for any longer, plus I need to take it a little easier as I've some much longer runs in the last 2 weekends
Now its time to see if I can remember how to take the tent down, and then start getting ready for a brand new week of work tomorrow...

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)
