I think the idea behind SBDs is good. The problem is that there aren't enough goods and services you can buy with SBDs. When the only thing they're good for is swapping for other crypto tokens they look just as arbitrary as any other currency. One of the benefits of Steem and SBDs is fee-less transactions but there doesn't seem to be much interest or infrastructure to support simple, straightforward e-commerce.
