Jagua (Genipa Americana) es una fruta que crece en América Central y América del Sur. El jugo de la fruta inmadura tiene un poderoso tinte azul, que tiñe la piel dejando una mancha azul marino. Jagua ha sido utilizada durante siglos como un arte natural corporal por diferentes tribus indígenas, cuando viajaba en Panamá vi a muchas personas (en las comunidades indígenas con las que me quedaba) adornadas con jagua.
Jagua es utilizada por muchxs artistas de henna como una alternativa natural a la llamada "henna negra".
Si se pregunta cómo diferenciar jagua vs la "henna" negra, aquí hay un consejo:
▶ Después de lavar el gel, la Jagua habrá dejado una mancha grisácea / verdosa apenas visible y esa mancha se oscurece entre 24/48 hrs 🌿 (como la henna natural) VS la "henna negra" deja un color oscuro enseguida🚫
Siempre asegurense que su artista use productos naturales y recuerden:

Jagua ( Genipa Americana) is a fruit that grows in Central America and South America. The juice of the unripe fruit has a powerful blue dye, that stains the skin leaving a navy blue stain. Just like henna, the stain on the palm goes insanely dark. I applied the jagua feel and left it on for 2 hours and then washed it off.
Jagua has been used for centuries as a natural face/body art by different indigenous tribes, when I was traveling in Panama I actually saw many people (in the indigenous communities I was staying with) adorned with jagua.
Jagua is used by many henna artists as a natural altermative to thr so called "black henna". If you wonder how to differentiate jagua vs black "henna", here there is a tip:
▶After washing the gel off, jagua will have left a very light grayish/greenish stain, sometimes its very light and you can't actually see it at all... That stain darkens within 24/48 hrs 🌿( just like natural henna does) VS chemically adulterated "black henna" Will stain your skin right away🚫
Remember to always make sure your artist uses natural products!!! Stay safe and remember: ✋ henna is never black
