Hoy me arreglé las uñas y aquí les dejo las fotos de todo el proceso, porque quedé feliz con el resultado y quería compartirlo tal cual pasó.
Y sí, el título es literal: esto lo pagué con las ganancias que he ido generando en mis posts anteriores aquí en Hive. El arreglo me costó 1300 pesos cubanos (CUP), que al cambio son aproximadamente 2 dólares americanos, y si lo llevamos a Hive, serían más o menos 2 HBD, ya que el HBD está diseñado para mantenerse cerca de la paridad con el dólar. No es mucho dinero visto desde afuera, pero aquí, y para mí, representa exactamente lo que Hive me ha permitido: convertir el tiempo que le dedico a escribir en algo tangible, en este caso, en cuidarme las manos.
Todo empezó quitando el arreglo anterior. Ese paso fue tan rápido que ni me dio tiempo de sacar una foto, así que arrancamos directo desde ahí. Después vino toda la preparación de la uña: limarla, retirar cutícula, dejarla lista para recibir el producto. Es una parte que muchas veces se pasa por alto cuando uno solo ve el resultado final, pero es la base de que todo lo demás se sostenga bien.
Con la uña ya preparada, me aplicó el primer. Luego vino la base, en un tono como rosa piel, pensado justamente para que el acabado se viera natural y no transparente, como si la uña estuviera simplemente sana y cuidada y no "vestida" con producto. El arreglo en sí es una base rubber directamente sobre mi uña natural, sin extensión ni tips, algo que valoro porque respeta mi uña de verdad.
Ahí fue que empezó la parte creativa: me hizo el filo diferente en cada uña, jugando con un color beige, y encima trazó unas rayitas en negro que le dieron movimiento al diseño. Para cerrar el efecto, aplicó un polvo dorado que le dio ese brillo discreto, ni exagerado ni apagado. El toque final fue el top cristal, que selló todo y le dio ese acabado húmedo y brillante que se ve en las fotos.
El resultado me encantó. Se ve delicado, con esa mezcla entre lo natural y lo trabajado que tanto me gusta, y sobre todo cuidando la uña de base, que para mí es tan importante como el diseño en sí.

It all started with removing the previous set. That part went so fast I didn't even get a photo of it, so we're jumping straight in from there. Next came all the nail prep: filing, pushing back the cuticle, getting everything ready to receive product. It's a step that often gets overlooked when you only see the finished look, but it's the foundation everything else depends on.
With the nail prepped, she applied the primer. Then came the base, a shade close to skin-pink, chosen specifically so the finish would look natural instead of sheer, as if the nail were simply healthy and cared for rather than "dressed" in product. The set itself is a rubber base applied directly over my natural nail, no extensions or tips, which I appreciate because it respects my real nail underneath.
That's when the creative part began: she gave each nail a different edge shape, playing with a beige tone, then drew thin black lines on top that gave the design movement. To finish the effect, she applied a gold powder for that subtle shimmer, not too much, not too little. The final touch was a crystal top coat, sealing everything in and giving that glossy, wet-look finish you can see in the photos.

I loved how it turned out. It looks delicate, with that mix of natural and worked-on that I really love, and above all, taking care of the base nail, which to me matters just as much as the design itself.
