In Old English, an ealuhús was a hús where you could get ealu measured into your ealo-wǽge from an ealu-faet and get totally ealo-gál sitting on an ealo-benc listening to the ealu-scop sing/recite poetry. The whole thing was known as gebeórscipe (beeriness? convivial cheer with beer). Waes hael!
