Celebrate With Gratitude & Gusto!
The final dimension of the creative process model is celebration - acknowledging and rewarding yourself (and your team) for creative accomplishments. This dimension is very important and brings a sense of completion. When well done one can move right on to new creative projects initiated by the first dimension.
Celebration is an important conclusion to the creative cycle. Rewarding successful creativity with celebration as well as tangible rewards promotes confidence, completion and rejuvenation. Celebrating with gratitude is one of the most successful ways of acknowledging yourself and any others who have assisted in the creative efforts. Gratitude is a powerful attitude that enhances creative thinking by opening the mind in thanks to life.
Inspiration can flow naturally from gratitude and inspiration helps to begin the creative process again with new ideas and projects. Being grateful for what you have accomplished contributes to a more graceful and fulfilling life.
Gusto is conscious enthusiasm and a great approach to life’s challenges and opportunities. The emotional power of gusto can also be infused into any of the dimensions of the creative process. Creativity can be enlivened with this zest and enjoyment throughout life and endeavors. Gusto and gratitude are at the heart of the creative life.
There are many ways to celebrate in private or with a group. Webster’s definition - “To do something special or enjoyable for an event or occasion” is worth considering as work is completed. Even a simple “congratulations” whispered to yourself may do. Buying a gift or a dinner out are also healthy acknowledgments. Taking a walk or sitting in Nature can be a very rejuvenating reward.
This is me celebrating and rejuvenating after a very busy time.
Treating family or friends to share the celebration reinforces good feelings and is highly encouraged. Within business, science or industry celebratory acknowledgments are quite common and beneficial. Rewarding performance, creativity and goal achievement keeps the world moving forward. Celebrations for group creativity like motion picture wrap parties, business bonuses and trips, awards, etc. are all proven methods to encourage with gratitude.
Celebrating with friends or business associates is a positive way of completion. This rejuvenating pause before the next challenges and creative ventures is a healthy break prior to the initiators that begin the creative process again.
Relax and rejuvenate methods can be used at the very end of the creative cycle to prepare for the next challenges and desires in your creative life. Or they can be used in any dimension of the cycle – especially if you are experiencing a mental or emotional block to your creative process. If blocks are experienced one may want to take a celebration break and release blocking energies.
Celebrations integrated throughout the creative process dimensions can bring positive emotions to visualizations and the imagination. Emotions like enthusiasm certainly add energy to creativity. Remember: Awareness can go to any aspect of the cycle and use it to keep the whole process moving.
Create and Celebrate is an attitude and an awakening to the powers of your being and the power of life. As a fundamental positive attitude this is a mental logo, an affirmation, a mantra, a central philosophical foundation.
