In this type of metropolitan area networks there are technologies based on "WiMAX" which can reach an approximate speed of 70 Mbps in a radius of several kilometers.
This is the network that has the most reach of all wireless networks. For this reason, all mobile phones are connected to a wireless wide area network. Within this type of network are the following technologies: GSM, GPRS y UMTS.
