Hi everybody.
Christmas 2021 is approaching, do you have any plans yet?
Noel, also known as Christmas, is a special year-end occasion for family and friends to gather together. Give the best words and the most meaningful gifts to those you love. For me, Christmas is a time when I will spend a lot of time studying because this is the time for the final exam of my subjects. In recent days, I have been caught in my city with images of Christmas, the atmosphere is bustling everywhere. The shops are decorated for the Christmas holidays extremely unique and beautiful. Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus, held on December 25. My family used to live very close to Danang Cathedral, which I remember every year. Every evening on the 24th, my father and mother will take me to the church to watch music and interesting events at the church. Although my family does not follow any religion, I still feel the sacredness of God and every year on Christmas occasion I come here to visit and receive this event.
My today's post will introduce to everyone, a place that every Christmas, that any Da Nang people are interested and want to come here. That is the main church of Da Nang. This church is also known as the chicken church. On the top of the tower, there is a chicken on the top of the cross. This is a church of Da Nang diocese in central Vietnam, the church is located at 156 Tran Phu Street, Hai Chau 1 Ward, Hai Chau District, Da Nang City. The church is located at a location in the heart of the city center and close to the famous Han Market and Han River areas of Da Nang. The Cathedral is the first church of Da Nang city, built-in 1923 and in a short time, in 1924 was inaugurated quickly. Although built in a short time, but the church still has a very magnificent beauty, with unique architecture in the eyes of each person, when coming here.
Today, the church has been 97 years old, has more than 70000 parishioners, over time the church still retains the same values as the first days. I will lead everyone to explore this church, through my article. The church is located in a large lot of land, with two main gates and two side gates. The main gate is on Tran Phu street and the side gate is on Yen Bai street. When entering the main gate, we will see the church in the front. With Gothic architecture, featured are the arcs on the door. The facade of the church is shaped like a cross. With a tower height of 70m and around there are a total of 10 small towers. At the top of the church tower, there is a chicken. As far as I know, the chicken is to determine the direction of the wind and this chicken is not a symbol of France, but a symbol of repentance, biblical awakening. In the center of the church is a statue of Jesus with outstretched arms. Step inside the church, there will be pictures and statues of God. At the end of the cathedral is a staircase leading to the 2nd floor, the door is locked so I can't go up to the 2nd floor.
Stepping out of the back area of the church is a rocky cave wall, worshiping the statue of Mary and the list of names on the stones behind the statue of Mary, I don't know who the nameplates on the stone are, but maybe they are those who have passed away and this is the place to remember the deceased. Next to the cave is the catechism classroom and the main rectory area. Every weekend, at the church, there will be solemn ritual activities and Catholic rituals according to Christianity. Especially on Christmas days, Da Nang Cathedral will be decorated splendidly, with attractive arts and crafts during Christmas, I will come here to participate in events that day.
Have you prepared anything for your Christmas this year? If so, please share with me through the comments section below. This is the end of my article about introducing Da Nang Cathedral. Thank you all for reading and supporting my post. Wishing everyone a peaceful and warm Christmas with their loved ones.
