I also wanted to do something for the environment and wanted to follow your lead. But as I live in the country side no one throws stuff out on the curb, all I found was a bag of rotten potatoes. So I figured I would look through the house instead. I jumped into my wife’s closet and she has so much stuff in there that she rarely uses. I sold most of it right away! But suddenly my wife found out what I was up to and now I’m in big trouble. So even though I helped the environment in some aspect my wife is now pissed off. She says she’s giving me blue balls for Xmas ..

Jokes aside, love what you’re doing and wish I could do something similar. I’m thinking about getting old used furniture and renovating it, that could actually work ! Furniture shouldn’t be used like fashion clothes and thrown away after being used for such a short time. Just polish it up and paint it and it’s as good as new. Nothing unique in doing that but the more people that do it the better I guess .
