I met a young lady from Cahersiveen.
Her eyes were as blue as the sky in the spring.
Her hair it was curled and her skin shone like pearl.
Tis my faerie queen from Cahersiveen.
She showed me the ring forts in County Kerry.
We climbed Cnoc na dTobar and stared at the sea.
The fog rolling in made a perilous descent
With my faerie queen from Cahersiveen.
"Come here to me king and I'll look after you",
She beckons me with her eyes mountain spring blue.
Her face framed so fair by her bracken brown hair.
O my faerie queen from Cahersiveen.
Her cheeks they are rosie as fox gloves in bloom.
The sun of my smile lights her love like the moon.
She introduced me to the old hawthorn tree.
She's my faerie queen from Cahersiveen.
I've known other faerie queens 'cross this world wide,
From mountains and valleys to island sea sides.
And there's none but one I would choose for my bride,
that's my faerie queen from Cahersiveen.
