Before answering this question for myself, let me give you a little backstory.
It's 2008, the mainstream music scene was just about to enter the #EDM phase and it's basically what everyone was listening that summer. Artists like Deadmau5, AdamK & Soha, Inpetto, EDX and many others would release great progressive house songs that could listen to on end without getting ear fatigue.
2008 was also the year i started producing for mainstream artists, mostly from Romania but a few from other countries as well. I've been going by the name Darone at the time, releasing songs on various independent labels, mostly to gather feedback and improve my craft.
For a better part of the next 10 years progressive house has been in my headphones when i wasn't actually making music, but fast forward to 2018 and things have shifted.
When going to the movies you always get a great vibe when the soundtrack is on par with the visuals, when the subtle sounds carry the emotional of the movie without any actor actually speaking or when only a few words on in a song give you everything you need about the scene.
Soundtracks from movies, games or series have taken a hold of my playlist, and it doesn't seem like that's going to change in the near future, well... who knows.
