At what point do blockchain communities evolve into cults?

How would we identify if a blockchain community has become a cult?

First how would we even define what is and isn't a cult?

Second what criteria would we use to apply to know when a certain blockchain community has gone from being based on profit and shared stake to become based beliefs?

Do we just look at how the marketing is set up to determine if it's a cult?

Do we base it on whether there are control tactics?

Should we even care if blockchain communities evolve into cults unless those cults become malicious?
