A fairy tale castle🕌🕌

Castle of clay is a foray into the stories of the Grimm brothers. As the name calls it, this complex is made up of small clay boxes that can be easily molded so that the buildings catch the rounded and beautiful shapes desired by the owner.

If we were to imagine the house of the 7 dwarfs in which the White as Snow or the home where Hansel and Gretel arrived, but without the bad witch, then it would certainly look like the one at Castle of clay. With a river crossing the castle, this clear space is worth visiting if you want to feel like in a story. The Zanelor Valley is currently open to guests, but you have to keep an eye on their work to find out when you can stay in the story castle.

The castle is located 40 km from Sibiu, in the Zanelor Valley and will become a guesthouse. It has ten rooms and a ground floor of 320 sqm. It was built by craftsmen and workers from Maramures, based on a project by architect Ileana Mavrodin. For interior design, the ideas of architect Ramona Pop are used. The foundation is made of concrete and stones, the structure is made of wood, and the walls are made of cob (oyster log and then covered with cobs), a mixture of earth, water, straw, clay and sand. The exterior walls are 60 cm thick and the interior ones 45 cm.

"We wanted to be a story house because we had a seven-year-old boy and I traveled to the countryside at various hostels. I wanted to be something else, "said Răzvan Vasile.
For this project we've changed five architects. It's hard enough to make such a project, but in the end I think it's worth it. Now everyone in the area stops and admire, take pictures or shoot. As a cost, from my point of view I came out more expensive than a brick house, but in the end I think it will be worth it. Honestly, I think we did not succeed if we did not have the moral support of the family. My wife and boy were next to me, "Razvan Vasile told.
