What is the small decision you made in your life that ended up having a big impact on it?
Greetings friends from @Silverbloguer, followers of the Memory project. Today writing about the theme of week 4, when week 5 has just come out, definitely my attention has been a little scattered, and I confused the theme of this week that culminates. The truth is that it didn't fall badly, as I really enjoyed writing about my childhood and adolescence, part of my history that is full of good memories.
I join the theme of week 4 with delay and with much enthusiasm, since bringing to my memory decisions that determined the path of life I took, always causes me amazement, because things could have been different, and I am sure not better, so my dear girls (granddaughters) today I share with you a not so small decision that changed my course.
!
When I was sixteen years old, I finished high school, the level of education that gives you the credentials to enter university. I believe that at that age we are still too young to decide what career we want to follow, especially if we take into account that when you choose a career you are supposed to spend between 25 and 30 years doing the same job.
That is why when you were in the third year of elementary school, at that time, the high schools applied vocational tests, with them the counselor advised you or suggested that you should follow: the area of science, the humanities and a third option that lasted three years and you graduated as a baccalaureate teacher (teacher). My results showed that my forte was in the humanities and the best option would be to study to become a teacher.
I refused, I didn't want to be a teacher, and as a child I loved to play at being the teacher of my sisters and friends. What I was clear about was that my place was in the humanities, so that's where I went.
When I was in fifth grade the vocational tests gave the same result again, teaching was my path, however I did not accept it. I had decided that I wanted to study Industrial Relations, I imagined myself working in a company and not in a school. But there was a small detail, in the city where I live, they did not give that career, they gave it in another nearby city and my mother could not afford the expenses that this would generate.
So I decided to enter the pedagogical school (to study the teaching career) and look for a job to raise some money and then pay the expenses of living and studying away from home. While I was in my third semester at the pedagogical school, a technological university institute opened a career in Industrial Relations in my city. Immediately, I left the pedagogical school and enrolled in the technological one, it was paid, but since I was already working in a school as a teacher, I could pay for it without any problem.
Between study and work, time went by, when I had to do my internship, which was a requirement for graduation, I managed to enter one of the largest and most recognized companies in Venezuela.

There I met the man who would become my first husband, we fell in love, decided to get married and had a beautiful baby and soon after we divorced (I will tell you about this at some point). The truth is that when I had Marco, my world and my expectations changed, I was no longer interested in working in a company, I simply could not imagine working all day long in a company and seeing my child at night.
Usually, one decision leads to another. I kept my degree and decided to go into teaching. When Marco was about four years old I made another important decision, to resume my studies in pedagogy, with the years I had been working as a teacher I had discovered my vocation, I loved what I did, I loved teaching, learning and giving opportunities to children for a school experience of friendly learning that led them to want to learn.

I worked thirty-five years as a primary school teacher and ten parallel years at university level. Today, now retired, I confirm that it was a good decision, because the career gave me many satisfactions and some disappointments, while allowing me to develop professionally and open myself to other areas of knowledge that I currently develop with great skill and ability.
With this decision, I not only found my professional path, but also a very special man with whom I have shared thirty-five years of life as a couple, my grandfather, who was my teacher as soon as I started in the pedagogical field. There will be an opportunity to talk about this experience.
For now, what I want to emphasize is that when we make decisions we open the floodgate of a series of chained events, so it is important to stop and evaluate what we want in our life and what is best for us to be and feel good.
