The Steem Monsters season tree just finished yesterday.
I started to play the game from the second season, so this was my second season 😊. The season itself was a bit delayed, since there was new gameplay introduced with it.
Previous Season
Before this season, you just press the ranked button and a random player with approximately your level will be choses and you start to fight. In this tournament they introduced a sort of preview of your enemy. Before the battle starts, a preview of the enemy is shown, and you have the chance to quit if you want. If decided to continue, you go to make a team. There is around two minutes to make the team and if you don’t act in this time, it will be decided that you give up and the opponent wins.
Because of this big change, they restarted the rankings at zero. Everybody started with ranking zero. This was an interesting situation, because the ones who started playing first made a great ranking in the begging. I can be proud of myself since I entered in the top 10 at one moment :).
My experience with this game play, was that it takes longer to start a battle, since there are more steps in between. I never quit after seeing who I'm fighting with. And on a lot of occasions I forgot to make the team and loosed because of that. Since there is some waiting time, I would go to another tab, and when comeback it is over :)
I will really like if the start is a bit faster, but if you think about it... great speed for a crypto game 😊.
I finished the league at 378 place, with a ranking of 1999 points.
My Collection
The strongest teams, summoner is my red and blue one. Those are at level 4 at the moment. The rest of the summoners are at level 3. I have chosen a card for each summoner, and I go with them, leveling them up. I sell the one I don’t need an buy the once I need.
The blue team is doing the best at the moment and I hope to level it up to level five until the end of the season.
From the buying and selling I try to be neutral and buy as much as I sell. You are rewarder with cards for each of your daily tasks, and at the end of the season with more cards depending on the ranking. The last season I got couple of golden cards as well. These ones really make a difference. The most valuable one is wort around 18$.
Season Four
The season 4 just started and again new things. The earlier players are always the guinea pig :) The seasons last for about 16 days.
The most important update is that now we have a special rewarding card. For the daily task reward you have only the rewarding cards, as well as for the end of the season. For this purpose, there is 10 new cards, one for each of the summoner and four neutral. This means less supply of the regular cards, and probably increase in price of those. You can always buy cards as well :).
I will probably go with some of the neutral reward cards and leveling them up.
Overall this is a great game. It is well thought. Each battle has a different rule so to speak so each battle is a challenge. You don’t get caught up in the same routine. I would say it is the most fun game in the crypto industry at the moment. At least from my experience, but I believe others will confirm.
