Romans 6Reina-Valera 1960 (RVR1960)
Dead to sin
6 What, then, shall we say? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?2 In no way. Because we who have died to sin, how will we still live in it?
3 Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized in Christ Jesus have been baptized in his death?
4 For we are buried with him to death by baptism, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too may walk in newness of life.
5 For if we were planted together with him in the likeness of his death, so we also will be in that of his resurrection;
6 Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, so that we no longer serve sin.
7 For he who has died has been justified from sin.
8 And if we die with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him;
9 knowing that Christ, having risen from the dead, no longer dies; Death does not rule over him.
10 For as soon as he died, he died once for all for sin; but as soon as he lives, for God he lives.
11 So also consider yourselves dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus, our Lord.
Ephesians 2 Reina-Valera 1960 (RVR1960)
Saved by grace
And he gave you life, when you were dead in trespasses and sins,2 in which you went in another time, following the current of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now operates in the children of disobedience,
3 among whom also all of us once lived in the desires of our flesh, doing the will of the flesh and of the thoughts, and were by nature children of wrath, as well as others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us,
5 Even though we were dead in sins, he gave us life together with Christ (by grace you are saved),
6 And together with him he raised us up, and also made us sit in the heavenly places with Christ Jesus,
7 to show in the coming centuries the abundant riches of his grace in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
John 1: 12 Queen-Valera 1960 (RVR1960)
12 But to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave them the right to become children of God;
