Buffalo? Today's hike combined nature with history and culture. The first stop was the Thürer Meadows, a renatured wetland which is now home to water buffalo and countless species of birds. Then it went over pastures with a view of the eastern Eifel to the Marien-pilgrimage church Fraukirch. The church is famous for its cartilage-style altarpiece from 1667. A leisurely and easy hike.
