The world around me, full of danger, batters at my doors
Seeking access to my secrets, wearing down my will.
Looks and comments, sneers and laughter, crash upon my shores.
Constant pressure, self-erosion, throwing darts until
The image of myself grows blurry, trapped within the mists
Of foul descriptions, made by churls, who seek to cast me down.
But I will only bend, not break, for I know there exists
A faith in me, so true, that they will never let me drown.
When tempests blow and raging storms, unleashed, tear me apart,
I do not break, for I am safe, within your beating heart.
