Another week in the books. This is my first season collecting Champions rewards so I'm excited to open them in another 10 days. The pics of people "winning the lottery" by getting five-figure #SPS payouts has me hoping. lol I realize that they are very rare but...I will at least have a few tickets this time around.
There are a couple new proposals available to vote on this week, both proposed by the community rather than the game itself. One has to do with having a place to see how current proposals are faring (proposed by #PeakMonsters ), and the other is asking the DAO to stake another 28M SPS (proposed by @genepoolchlrn8r ). You can read the details on the Proposals page in the game. I don't have much of an opinion either way, to be honest. I'm still reading comments on discord before deciding which way I'll vote.
The biggest thing that happened this week is probably the fact that the current Rewards Cards that are being dropped are all ending. Some of them already have. #Splinterlands announced that they will be coming out with around 40 "Soul-Bound" rewards cards; probably starting at the end of the current season. This led to a pretty significant spike in prices on the markets as scarcity starts to kick in. There are literally thousands (if not tens or hundreds of thousands) of these cards out there, but the more they are combined and the more that get bought up, the less there will be. Simple math. Fortunately I had been adding some here and there for the last few weeks as I saw a few reaching their full print. This just happened to put an exclamation point on them ending.
I'm still bargain hunting and managed to add a few more cards this week:
I've had this as a Level 2 forever but I maxed it when I saw a good price. With all the new rulesets, that Return Fire at level 4 can really make a big difference in battles. I don't use this card a ton, but there are definitely some situations where he is the best option. Up until now I've only known this because it gets used against me. lol Now maybe I can return the favor.
I had this at a level 1 but again found a great price on a max level so took it. This is one of those cards that you never think about, but it's amazing how often you can find a use for a 1 mana card. In low mana battles, extra health and melee really make a difference early. We'll see.
I had this at level 5 which I thought was plenty, but when I saw it for less than half price (compared to most of what's on the market) I maxed it out. A Neutral card with minus magic and Affliction? Yes, please. It's amazing how often getting affliction to hit can be the difference between winning and losing. Plus, there aren't a ton of them out there that have it, so being in the Neutral splinter is really a plus.
That's it for this week. I'll be back next Saturday with another roundup and hopefully a few more bargain buys.
Happy Battling!
