Mystery Tracks in the Snow!

So it has been extremely cold here for the last 2 weeks. We have not even seen the temperature rise above freezing levels during the day. During the night temperatures have been around -20 C. To top it off we have had snow at least every other day. The landscape is filled with fields of pure white undisturbed snow. My yard has been a perfect white blanket... until today!

This morning I woke up and noticed some tracks out my back window. At first I thought that they may have been footsteps, so had a quick moment of panic. When I took a closer look they appeared to be some sort of animal tracks. So I bundled up, headed outside to face the elements and track down what this creature may have been.
