We take a trip to Florida pretty much every year. We always spend a couple of days at Disney when we are there.
The countdown to this years trip is on. Our flight leaves in 15 more days. I don't usually get excited for trips until I am on the airplane, so this year I thought I would write some posts about our previous trips to help get me into the mood!
2016/2017 - Star Wars
So both 2016 and 2017's trips were heavily centered around Star Wars. My son Luke really likes the Start Wars movies and when Episode 7 came out, Disney added quite a few Start Wars themed attractions to the parks. Mostly parades, shows, and character meetings.
My son for some reason it a huge fan of all the bad guys. Sure that Star Wards bad guys are pretty cool. So I guess I can understand why. They always have cool masks and voices and even fly the cooler ships. Below is a picture of Luke and Kylo Ren at one of the character meetings. I highly recommend this one. When we were leaving my wife made the mistake of telling him "May the Force be with you". Now we all know that this is something that the Jedi say, so Kylo walked up to my wife at a quick pace and stopped about a foot away from her. He pointed his finger in her face and said "Definately Not!". He then dramatically turned and walked away from her with his cape spinning around into her face. You should have seen the look on my wife's face. She didn't know what she did wrong until Luke told her later.
Probably the best Star Wars attraction that the park has to offer is the Jedi Training located in Hollywood Studios.
Here the kids spend are all given Jedi Robes and a light saber. They then go through some rigorous training and then have to face their fears.
Both Darth Vader, the Seventh Sister and Kylo Ren make an appearance and the little Jedi have to help fend them off. This is a must if your kids are into Star Wars and are in the 5 - 10 year old age range. You need to get in line early in the day as the spots fill up quickly.
With the new movie that came out this year, Luke is still into Star Wars and cant wait to go back.
Only 15 more days!
