On a morning at the cusp of spring,
upon my balcony sweetly alighted
two doves as two monks or two nuns
to lord over the lavender and mint.

Everything with wings is heaven-sent;
as every beak and every talon sheathed
grows harmless—two doves and two strands
ebullient: immortal memory.

One sits contemplating verdant lawn;
another, breathes into bare winter's oak
one hope in two breasts of one life
restorèd, and forever to increase.

Then yearn I for the song to never cease;
I join my warbling voice unto the throng.
Now chorus—three doves in one sound
beginning-less, eternal harmony.
