When it comes to writing it's better to stay away from rules at first and not expect anything and then something words flow. The moment I think about motive and purpose I lose the meat of what I wanted to write.

I can definitely relate to that; it's a double-edged sword in my experience. I think this will be fun — I'll try to brainstorm a few of the qualities I've noticed about creating freeform vs. with rules/constraints.
