It makes a lot more sense to consider the Spring Equinox the beginning of a New Year. As I get older, I find myself more caught up in the dynamics of the changing seasons and "riding the waves" of each, rather than picking favorites. Every year that passes, as time seems to move faster... I try to appreciate the idiosyncrasies of each more and more.

I find it inspiring that you feel so at home in Japan. I can't wait until I get the chance to visit new places again, because the feeling of finding home somewhere totally new is so incredible. I felt it in India, although only there for 4 months. (It seemed much longer.) I really want to live abroad for longer periods of time. Japan is high up on my list of places to experience. :-)
