Even in pen
___________

I really don't prefer pen — perhaps I should —
as the medium by which I mark the meaning —
as the atramentous pigment ether-reaching
in which I wilt the idealistic bloom,
though it's true it takes less tension on the point
by which to soon contrive to annoint —
the lesser and the ego-limited.

Commitment is a gamble of the red,
the blue-blooded — simple symmetry
of pass upon the pass of mortal paths
misleading amomentous halfway-dead.

The reason that the flow is effortless
is by the grace of that which never halts:
who from the dire straits does decompress
a mortal in the binds of structured sulks.

Without fear of constraining definition,
without fear of elision or addition,
without fear of distorting of the True:
I open, love, and speak my heart to you—
Even in blue pen.
