Steemit Power Down - Wrong Error Message When Power Down Less Than 2 SP
One of the main problem Steemit facing is the growth of members due to difficulty to register new account. Thus I tried various methods to create account like spending 6 STEEM to create a new account and also delegation method to create new account. During the testing process, I did power down on different Steem Power account and I notice there is a wrong error message when power down less than 2 SP.
Steps:
Go Steemit.com
Click the Profile Picture at Top Right and then Click "Wallet"
Click "0.200Steem" for Drop Down Menu
Click "Power Down"
At the Pop Up Box, Move Slider to the Right for Maximum STEEM.
Click "POWER DOWN"
Key In Master Key/Active Key in Login Box (This is to confirm you are legit owner of this account)
Observe the Error Message in Pop Up Box
Observe the Error Message in Wallet Page
Expected Result:
Based on Steemd.com, the account creation fee is 0.2 STEEM which mean a user can power down when they have 2SP in their account. Thus, the Correct Error Message should be "Unable to power down (ERROR: Account required 10x the account creation fee in Steem Power (approximately 2SP) before it can power down.)"
Actual Result:
Wrong Error Message when Power Down 0.2SP. Error Shown "Unable to power down (ERROR: Account required 10x the account creation fee in Steem Power (approximately 300SP) before it can power down.)"
The screenshot below shown a user can power down when they have 6 SP.
Environment: Windows 8.1/Firefox 56.0.2
