This is acrylic paint on water color paper.
I love to paint. I didn't discover it until I was in my 30's.
One day I decided to go buy a bunch of paint, paper, and canvas. I had every color paint you can imagine and all sizes of paper and canvas but they were always blank.
I was afraid to touch paint to paper or canvas.
What if it wasn't good enough? What if I "wasted" the paper and paint?
Ugh that was an awful feeling of wanting to create but being afraid to.
And one day a few years ago I said...screw it. If I waste it then I'll buy more.
And I started throwing down paint on gel plates and creating all kinds of weird art lol.
I fell in love with paint. I even had my art in a RAW show. But I decided in the end that I didn't want to sell my art. It was mostly for me, for fun.
I haven't painted this hard (when I say hard I mean I just get paint everywhere, I get super emotional and into my work. I cry sometimes too but out of expression. And it feels sooooo good) but it's been a while since I painted like this.
I've been focused on building my business. Recently I started doing small projects, some cards, and some smaller pieces.
I remembered how much fun painting (and creating in general) is for me. And I was blessed with some new paints and brushes for mother's day too. I will be doing more painting and stamping in the future. Maybe I'll even make some tutorials for the artists here on Hive.
Anyway, I made this piece last year in Florida but it was unfinished. I recently found it in my suitcase and decided to finish it.
I present you the finished piece. "Birds With Flowers". I hope you enjoy it.
Thanks for reading and looking...not as sexy as my #Hivefies but still lots of fun for me lol!
