Following the Christian career, persevering in faith will bring us great rewards on this earth and for eternity.
Therefore, let us also, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and the sin that besieges us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3 Consider him who suffered such a contradiction of sinners against himself, so that your spirit may not be weary until you faint.
Hebrews 12:1-3
When we talk about runners, specifically in a marathon if in a route on a marked line, but let's imagine that each of the athletes wanted to run in the direction they want, that is, towards any direction, that is, they all start from the same place until they reach the same goal but each one chooses the path they want, be it a route, a park, a square or any other place, now imagine that all these athletes reach the finish line, the goal and they do not receive any Award or recognition. What do you think about it?
Perhaps the previous table seemed a little unusual or too silly to you, but this is often the decision we make regarding the Christian race we run, we have a starting point and an arrival point and it is the same God who guides us to stay on the right path and thus run the race.
The idea is to run this race throughout our lives and reach the goal, run in the way that God has proposed to us, even if we deviate at some point we must recognize and return to the guide line. We are sure that we will receive the award at the end of this race but we cannot leave aside all the great things that we will experience throughout this life, the legacy that we will be leaving to other people, the lasting works that will remain in people's lives. .
Let us always remember that the Holy Spirit of God is the one who guides our steps and in the word of God we find written that even if we deviate and think about which path to take, God will always be there to straighten our steps, his Holy Spirit gives us the ability and the power to persevere, we do not need to invent the route, God has already established it, we only have to run the race and do it in the best way and thus win the prize of the supreme calling.
24 But I pay no attention to anything, nor do I count my life precious to myself, provided that I finish my course with joy, and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.
Seguir la carrera cristiana, perseverar en la fe nos traerán grandes recompensas en esta tierra y para la eternidad.
Por tanto, nosotros también, teniendo en derredor nuestro tan grande nube de testigos, despojémonos de todo peso y del pecado que nos asedia, y corramos con paciencia la carrera que tenemos por delante, 2 puestos los ojos en Jesús, el autor y consumador de la fe, el cual por el gozo puesto delante de él sufrió la cruz, menospreciando el oprobio, y se sentó a la diestra del trono de Dios.
3 Considerad a aquel que sufrió tal contradicción de pecadores contra sí mismo, para que vuestro ánimo no se canse hasta desmayar.
Hebreos 12:1-3
Cuando hablamos de corredores, específicamente en un maratón si en un recorrido en una línea marcada, pero imaginemos que cada uno de los atletas quisiera correr en la dirección que quiera es decir hacia cualquier dirección, es decir salen todos del mismo lugar hasta llegar a la misma meta pero cada uno elige el camino que desea ya sea una ruta, un parque, una plaza o cualquier otro lugar, ahora imagina que todos estos atletas llegan a la línea de llegada, a la meta y no reciben ningún Premio o reconocimiento ¿Que piensas al respecto?.
Quizás el cuadro anterior te ha parecido algo insólito o demasiado tonto, pero ésta es frecuentemente la decisión que tomamos nosotros en cuanto a la carrera cristiana que corremos, tenemos un punto de partida y un punto de llegada y es el mismo Dios que nos guía para mantenernos en el camino correcto y así correr la carrera.
La idea es correr esta carrera a lo largo de nuestra vida y llegar a la meta, correr a la manera que Dios nos ha propuesto, aún si nos desviamos en algún momento debemos reconocer y volver a la línea guía. Estamos seguros que recibiremos el galardón al final de esta carrera pero tampoco podemos dejar de lado todo lo grandioso que viviremos a lo largo de esta vida, el legado que estaremos dejando a las demás personas, las obras duraderas que permanecerán en la vida de las personas.
Recordemos siempre que el espíritu Santo de Dios es quien guía nuestros pasos y en la palabra de Dios encontramos escrito que aunque nos desviemos y pensemos qué camino tomar Dios siempre estará para enderezar nuestros pasos, su espíritu Santo nos da la capacidad y el poder para perseverar, no tenemos necesidad de inventar la ruta, Dios ya lo ha establecido solamente debemos correr la carrera y hacerlo de la mejor manera y así ganar el premio del supremo llamamiento.
24 Pero de ninguna cosa hago caso, ni estimo preciosa mi vida para mí mismo, con tal que acabe mi carrera con gozo, y el ministerio que recibí del Señor Jesús, para dar testimonio del evangelio de la gracia de Dios.
