During a sunny walk by a river in March, I took his few photos that I present to you today. All the boats that you will see are located in a small port set back from the river in order to avoid when the great spring floods arrive being washed away by the waters. This river is not very wide but it is deep and a lot of river around it feeds it permanently.

I took the photos on the edge of a river in the village where a large plane tree dominates the landscape. A path has been set up to reach the river a little further.
I'm thinking of trying to rent one of his boats for a half-day trip. Unfortunately the price of diesel has exploded with us, it has gone from 1.45 euros to 2.23 euros in less than three weeks. Which poses a big problem of rental cost just for fuel. A large majority of French vehicles use diesel as fuel in their car to go to work.
Fuel with us is taxed at over 80%, which means that the French state is earning a lot of money at the moment with the rising oil price. The people here are starting to moan. Fuel oil is also used to heat homes.

I like to spend time here as the village is clean, there is no paper and waste lying around. It's very important because it could end up in the river which eventually empties into the ocean.
The village square is now used for local events such as the market or garage sales. Also some starts are installed at the foot of the building but the more time passes and the less resists the situation. The only real income of this village is the tourism brought by the river and the few animations generated by the local people who try not to let the village die.
