Hello to all quick little post of the weekend. Wild Iris is a perennial plant found at the edge of water and ditches. She likes to have her feet in the water (rhizome). Depending on the species it can be medicinal or toxic therefore one should not venture to use it without the proper knowledge.
To reproduce the perfume of the violet (another small perennial flowers of the gardens), we used the iris mainly the rhizome to extract the perfume. Some irises are known to be expectorant and diuretic, but Iris pseudacorus and Iris foetidissima are poisonous.
